Take a Peak at our Upcoming Events

As President this year, I would like to tell you about our great association.

MAFTO is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money for educational and charitable endeavors. MAFTO is staffed by dedicated individuals from the food community who come together donating their time, money and hard work for this great cause.  MAFTO provides scholarships to deserving Food Marketing students and also provides financial aid for people in need through the Save A Life Fund.

The MAFTO Scholarship Program
Over 50 years ago, a small group of men started an organization founded on the principles of teamwork and friendship. These men envisioned this organization to become a tool bringing together entrepreneurs within the food industry to build a strong network.  In the spirit of growth and progress, The Philadelphia Food Trades Organization (to become MAFTO in 2005) set up an education endowment fund as a means of giving back to their industry. The endowment fund is supported by business owners and entrepreneurs who pool their contributions in order to promote education and future careers in the food industry.

You can join your colleagues in working to secure the future successes of our industry by making a contribution to The MAFTO Scholarship Program.  All contributions will be put toward the education of future colleagues.

The MAFTO Save A Life Fund
Save A Life is a unique organization, being that the funding comes from the food industry and the benefits of the fund are offered to people in need throughout the food industry. This helping hand is available to any food industry employee from senior management to a plant worker, retail clerk or a truck driver.

The Mid Atlantic Food Trades Organization (MAFTO) and independent contributors, through their generosity, support this fund and keep it afloat.

When a request is received from an individual in peril, Mr. Nate Ostroff, and others,  investigate the situation and report back to the Board of Directors. A decision is then made concerning the worthiness of the request as well as the monetary help the organization can offer. Thousands of dollars have been given to these deserving individuals since the funds inception.

To receive information on the MAFTO Save A Life Fund please contact:
Nate Ostroff at 610-968-1024 x227 or 610-608-9090.

MAFTO also sponsors Christmas for all Kids, this endowment is given to underprivileged children of all denominations at holiday time.  The endowment provides holiday gifts for these kids, gifts they might otherwise never receive.

I invite you to join our organization, come to our events (annual Food Show, General Membership Dinners, annual Golf Outing & Dinner Dance Weekend in Atlantic City), socialize & fraternize with our members, offer suggestions and volunteer.  Your participation in our association will help us continue with our mission:  raising money in order to give it away. MAFTO is proud that we have been able to donate well over $1,000,000 since the founding of the three organizations that merged in 2005 to form MAFTO.

Thank You.
