As we begin 2012 I would like to recognize the outstanding leadership and efforts of last year’s President Mike Marano along with the entire Board of Directors who volunteered many hours during this past year to ensure the organization achieved its goals throughout the year with each of the planned events and that we did. Starting with the general membership dinners held during the year featuring retailers from the industry to the annual (best in Philly) golf outing to our signature event, the Atlantic City Dinner Dance Weekend honoring an industry leader/organization and culminating the year with our renowned Monte Carlo Holiday Party benefitting Christmas for all Kids. It goes without saying that these events would not be successful without the outpouring of support we receive from our membership, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, CPG companies and industry vendors and for that we thank each of you.

AMR MAFTO is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money thru various events throughout the year for the purpose of educational and charitable endeavors.  Highlights from this past year include our scholarship program where AMR MAFTO awarded nine (9) $2,500 scholarships to members’ children attending college. The Salvation Army Delaware Chapter received a van full of toys donated from folks attending the holiday party as well as a large donation of toys from AMR MAFTO. Little Smiles of Philadelphia was the benefactor of a $5,000 check to assist with buying Christmas presents for those children in local hospitals, hospices and shelters. Finally, the Save-A-Life Fund who throughout the year donates money to those individuals and their families within the local industry that have a temporary setback or illness requiring financial assistance.

I consider myself extremely fortunate and honored to be part of this great organization. As your 2012 President, I am most humbled to lead such a fine organization as AMR MAFTO and I will do my utmost to guide this organization to financial success to continue generating the funds necessary to give back to our local charities, children in need, our industry peers and students pursuing higher education. Please remember to visit the website often and it is especially important that you register as a member and enjoy the many benefits associated with membership including member discounts at specified events, industry dinner gatherings, informative industry meetings, diverse networking opportunities and above all camaraderie with your industry peers while supporting a great cause. Your participation in our association will assist us to continue our mission of raising money in order to give back to the communities we live in. AMR MAFTO has given away over $1,000,000 since the founding of the now merged four organizations making-up AMR MAFTO today.
